The historic center of the city of Granada
At that time it became the Arab commercial district of the city and, after the Reconquest of Granada in 1492, it was the place that the first Christians chose to settle.
It is therefore a space that mixes two cultures, two histories, because it is not strange to find next to an old refuge for merchants of Arab period, or alhóndiga, historicist buildings of the XIX century.
The two outstanding monuments erected in the 16th century stand out as exceptional points of this visit, as the center of the new life of the city: the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel.
The first of them, a mixture of styles and one of the highest cathedrals in Europe. While the second, it becomes an indispensable point because it is the place where the remains of the Catholic Monarchs rest.
A jewel of the Elizabethan Gothic.
