Discover la Alpujarra
Over the course of a day, we will have the opportunity to visit the marvellous enclave of Las Alpujarras, villages located in the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
It is an unparalleled geographical and heritage area, white villages literally perched on the mountains of the sierra.
We will start our tour heading towards Lanjarón, famous for its thermal springs and rich waters. On the way up, Soportújar is the next village to visit, full of legends of witchcraft and stories of the Moors who lived in these villages before their final expulsion in 1609.
After visiting this place, we will continue to Pampaneira, full of typical handicrafts, narrow whitewashed streets, flower pots decorating the facades and urban labyrinths in which it is worth getting lost.
The last two locations we will visit will be the Fuente Agria de Pórtugos and we will finish in the "Heaven" of the Alpujarras, the famous Trevélez, a gastronomic place that has become popular for its exquisite production of cured ham.
We will visit a ham drying room where we will discover how the famous Trevélez hams are made.
To finish this excursion, we will enjoy a typical Alpujarran dish before returning to Granada.
Granada a Pie has created a collaboration with the Grupo Ganivet and we have carried out this programme where we will not only get to know the Alpujarra's landscapes but also enjoy a delicious menu with a live concert and open bar on the way back. What better way to determine a cultural route enjoying the views of the Lecrín Valley next to the Béznar reservoir.
