The Alpujarras

Over the course of a day, we will have the opportunity to visit the wonderful enclave of Las Alpujarras, villages located in the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

It is an unparalleled geographical and heritage space, white villages literally perched on the mountains of the sierra.

We'll start our tour, departing for Lanjarón, famous for its thermal springs and rich waters. On the rise, Soportújar will be the next of the villages to visit, full of legends of witchcraft and stories of the Moors who inhabited these villages until their definitive expulsion in 1609.

After visiting this place, we'll continue to Pampaneira, full of typical handicrafts, narrow whitewashed streets, pots full of flowers decorating the facades and urban labyrinths in which it is worth getting lost.

The last two locations we will visit will be the Fuente Agria de Pórtugos and we will end up in the "Heaven" of the Alpujarras, the famous Trevélez, a gastronomic place that has become popular for its exquisite production of cured ham.

We'll visit a ham drying room where we'll discover how the famous hams of Trevélez are made.
To finish this excursion, we'll enjoy a typical Alpujarra dish before returning to Granada.
